"Americans are stupid about risk... If I could manage to be smarter about risk than I usually am, I would worry less about the possibility of terrorism, and more about the probability that the same chickenhawks who exploited it before to sell us on war without end, will exploit it again to sing the virtues of temporary fascism."Meanwhile, back in the chicken coop...- Marty Kaplan, July 29, 2007

"Is there any doubt that the Bush administration, and its dead-ender allies in the Republican Party and the media, will use an act of domestic terrorism as a fresh opportunity to further demonize their political opponents and further compromise the Constitution?"
Nope, no doubt here. Repugnican fund-raising is way behind the Dems. A new attack is the only card in their hand and they will play it.
Two sites that could give an idea of what type of an attack to look for and expect:

Peace Out!
We are going on record here with the date 8/8/07 for the next False Flag event.
If we have to have it, 8/8/07 gets my vote. That will be the one year anniversary of the worst day of my life, so it would be awfully considerate of the powers that be to obliterate those personal memories for me on that day.
However, my bets are on those would-be heroes in Congress, the military, the FBI, the CIA, the judiciary, and most important -- the fourth estate -- who are finally going to say, "Enough is enough," and do the right thing.
Peace Out.
Worst day of your life?
Sorry to hear that.
We need a new INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION, NOW!
Great post! Thanks for the info, spread the word.
BTW, Tom Feeney (R-FL) is a criminal.

Two more congresspeople you may want to contact on the issue of "pre-emptive impeachment," the first one, Nancy Pelosi, should probably be first in line to be tried for treason the day after the next false flag attack occurs again on US soil (with Diane Feinstein following close behind), and the second congressperson listed, The Honorable Barbara Lee from the good ol' East of Bay, California, should probably be voted in as our new president after The Regime is finally brought down and the rest of congress is hung for treason.

I am so proud to live in the congressional district that has the best congressperson out there, meaning the only one who seems to have the spine enough to stand up to The Regime...
http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2001/09/lee.html
I just wish she were running for president for real so that I don't have to fret over whether I want to vote for the first black president or the first woman president -- that is, assuming we are all here and are still voting in this country by that time.
Check her out at her latest address to Congress (I love the way she always starts out so nice and calm and then just lays into it with real passion, as we all should be doing!)

Check her out calling on China to use its leverage to stop the genocide in Danfur:

Check her out on the subject of WMD's and the Iraqi war:

Is she the only congressperson out there with even an ounce of passion about this country, about this world, about doing the right thing? I hope not, but it sure looks like it sometimes!
Peace Out.
Wikipedia has a good discussion about Oath of Office (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_office#_note-1).
Now a lot of things can happen while Congress leaves for a break after this week. I can imagine, for instance, by "pure coincidence" some big natural disaster occurs in California, like say that big earthquake we've all been waiting for, and once again by "pure coincidence" the Hoover Dam, as a result of this earthquake, mysteriously undergoes dustification right before our eyes. How about that? LA and most of the Western US w/o power indefinitely. Wouldn't that be a convenient time for, say, that "terrorist attack" on Washington DC that we are all waiting for?
Here is an article concerning how Congress is currently interacting with The Regime this week:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070801/ap_on_go_co/bush_congress
A few brave souls in Congress seem to be pushing to impeach while the rest of these spineless cowards (lead by Pelosi -- the bigget traitor of them all) seem to be either scared to death of The Regime or are vying for a nice, new position of power in the New Regime.
Whatever the hell happens while Congress in on break for the summer, it is clear from all the evidence we have right now, before they go on break, that if Congress, instead of initiating impeachment proceedings against Bush over his blatant thumbing of the Constitution with regard to the the Gonzales subpoenas, Congress instead turns around and, yet again, tramples the constitution and grants him almost everything he "needs" with the wire-tapping requests, those pushing for the latter scenario and blocking the former scenario can be tried for treason. We will be keeping very good track of who is voting on what this week and will keep you posted.
In conclusion:
Here is the actual oath members of the US Congress have to take, according to the Constitution:
TITLE 5 > PART III > Subpart B > CHAPTER 33 > SUBCHAPTER II > § 3331 Prev | Next
§ 3331. Oath of office
An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC (emphasis added); that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. [So help me God].” This section does not affect other oaths required by law.
Source: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode05/usc_sec_05_00003331----000-.html
(Note that they don't have to say the "so help me God" part at the end though it seems there is pressure for them to say this anyway. For instance, the brackets around "So help me God" were put in by me, but the way it is written on the referenced web site, "So help me God" appears as part of the Oath with no notes that this is not required).
Yeah, I'll bet that's got them shaking in their boots. Better update your correspondence and tell them those dam Repugnicans are responsible for the bridge collapse and the people who died there. There's over 80,000 structurally deficient bridges in this country and it's all GWB's fault.
Well, not sure "shaking in their boots" was the goal here as much as just getting it on record somewhere.
As for the bridge collapse, funny you should mention it, Anon, because there is a connection between Minneapolis and Dr. Judy Wood in that her student Michael Zebuhr was murdered there in a suspicious manner. The following article is pretty bizarre in that it completely smears Dr. Wood, as usual, and actually argues that Dr. Wood herself plotted the murder (talk about wild conspiracy theories), but the article itself is nevertheless very intriguing in some other points it makes about Minneapolis being some kind of FBI hub for funny business:
http://www.iamthewitness.com/DarylBradfordSmith_Michael.html
As for how the bridge collapse occurred, apparently it is being deemed a crime scene until further investigation, though maybe that is standard fare for bridge collapses. Don't know...
The collapse did not appear to be terrorism-related. Even so, Hennepin County Sheriff Richard Stanek said law enforcement agents would treat the area as a crime scene until a cause for the collapse was determined. "We're not ruling anything in, we're not ruling anything out," he said.

As for "Repugnicans," my guess is they are the ones who will end up saving this country and the Constitution from Bush/Cheney, not the spineless "Scaredy-Crats," with the possible exception of my girl, army brat Barbara Lee. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how all this unfolds. I am still betting on some yet unnamed heroes doing the right thing and good triumphing over evil in this drama.
Peace Out.
There's over 80,000 structurally deficient bridges in this country and it's all GWB's fault.
If Bush hadn't spent all this money on a phoney "war on terrorism" and flushed it down a toilet otherwise know as Iraq, perhaps we could have REBUILT our nation's infrastucture AND New Orleans. It's your money... do you think it's being well spent?
really?
Shoes: OMG! Can't believe (well, then again Yes I can) that GWB is being blamed for 80,000 "structurally deficient" bridges in this country. So, all of the bridges have gone to hell in the last 6 years?? And as far as NO's is concerned how much money did they get it the past (lots) and where did it go (corrupt Dems).
Please stop the "It Bush's Fault". IT is so OLD and so TIRED. Have you nothing original to say??
We should have said "it's CLINTON'S fault?"
Please check and see who's blowing your retirement fund on a fiasco in the Middle East.
Shoes: What? Where the bridges in great shape when Clinton was in office?
And I'm not one of those government dependent people. I'll take person responsibility for my retirement. I don't accuse the govt. of all wrongdoing, preach about how I don't want them in my life, in my bedroom, etc. then cry when they aren't there to rescue my sorry ass.
What? Where the bridges in great shape when Clinton was in office?
No, but he left office with a BUDGET SURPLUS, if you are old enough to recall.
And I'm not one of those government dependent people. I'll take person responsibility for my retirement. Good for you, but there are alot of folks who can't or won't take responsibility and they will be a drag on you whether you admit it or not...please reconsider your position.
Shoes: Let's hear it for Billy Boy one more time. Bush spent twice as much money on bridge repair than Clinton did. And, Minnesota got there fair share (&then some).
Maybe they should check to see if some Democrat has the money hidden in his freezer (like DEM. Jefferson had in New Orleans. Where did all their levy money go?
If anyone depends on the government for their retirement-shame on them! Government dependence in this country is a disgrace. This is the land of opportunity-if one can't make & save enough here, oh, well!
If anyone depends on the government for their retirement-shame on them! Government dependence in this country is a disgrace. This is the land of opportunity-if one can't make & save enough here, oh, well! It's like they say: "There are are only TWO kinds of Republicans... Millionaires and FOOLS"
Which are you?
LOL nice one.
Shoes: What do you call the left-wing millionaires who are Dems?
There are two kind of Dems: DUMB & DUMBER!
I think you're missing the point here. If you're not a Millionaire and you're voting Republican (out of fear and phony cultural issues) you are voting against your own interests.
Bulletin for Shoes: Minnesota has a budget surplus of 2 billion dollars.
Bush signed a highway bill some time ago, and Minnesota received a generous amount.
So where did the money go? Instead of pointing to Iraq as a waste of money why don't you point the the politicans and their pet projects? Now THERE'S money that is wasted and should be put to better use.
And John Murtha who is always mouthing-off about how our troops don't receive the right protection vehicles, etc. is the "king of pork".
The feds. gives the states the money-again, just where does it go? .
Democrats want a nanny state where the criminal, non-working, lazy, scumbags are taken care of without any personal responsibility and live off the fruits of other peoples' hard work.
Republicans want personal freedom to invent,WHAT YOU INVENTIN'THERE BESIDES THE TRUTH? work hard,RIGHT! and harvest the fruits of their endeavors, while helping those not as fortunate as them, but not support those who make a living off mooching the fruits of others hard work and integrity. UNLIKE MAJOR CORPORATIONS
Now there's some classic conservative BS!
So where did the money go? Instead of pointing to Iraq as a waste of money why don't you point the the politicans and their pet projects? Now THERE'S money that is wasted and should be put to better use.
So Iraq is NOT a waste of money?
Agree LB@200! Libs. do encourage criminal state of non-working lazy scumbags living off the fruits of others. Kind of sounds like majority of people in New Orleans before & after Katrina.
Shoes: NO! Iraq is NOT a waste of money. You can put a price tag on protecting our homeland. Over there or over here!

Let's see what happens when disaster strikes your neck of the woods, where ever that rock you crawl out from under is located.
Shoes: NO! Iraq is NOT a waste of money. You can put a price tag on protecting our homeland. Over there or over here! Have some more Kool-Aid, Anon. You seem to be enjoying it.
BTW go see "No End In Sight" and see how great "your home team" has performed in Iraq. You will be proud, we're sure.
Here's a thought for you kkkonservatives -- if Iraq is so important to our security and you believe in the war, why aren't you over there fighting? Military recruitments are way down -- come on, our country needs you!!!
Shoes: YOU are the one drinkin the kool-aid, my man (along with your joint). It's a wonderful world when you're high but not the real one.
Wouldn't waste my time or money on"No End in Sight".
Moneysmith: Do you think only libs. are fighting over there? And how do you know I haven't been there?
Well, anonymous, since you're so courageous that you don't even post under a screen name, I would assume you're a chickenhawk like all the other war-mongers in this administration.
And no, I don't think only libs are fighting over there. I think the war is being fought by a lot of dedicated, mostly young people who believe this country is worth fighting for. Here's a diary I wrote at DailyKos about a soldier who died defending us: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/7/16/19731/6058
He left behind an infant and a four-year-old stepdaughter. Was it worth it? I don't think so. These people are dying for the wrong reasons.
If you think No End in Sight is a waste of money, fine, just keep on paying those taxes, since more than 50% of your tax dollars go to the "war" that's making us not safer.
Moneysmith: Wow! That's real courageous of you to go with than identity! If you're so brave, go with you're real name.
Maybe you think that soldier died for the wrong reasons but I don't. He was a real hero and died defending our homeland. You are probably one of those anti-military people that are against the military (govenment related) and think NOTHING is worth fighting for. It's too bad he had to give his life protecting people like you.
DailyKos? Another Bush-bashing, anti-war, Republican-blaming, blame America first for everyting website. Talk about being brain-washed....
Again we recommend that everyone take the time to either read Thomas Ricks' "FIASCO" or go see "No End In Sight" now playing...
Thanks!

It's interesting that you feel this way about denying help to suffering, needy AMERICANS, while at the same time SUPPORT a policy that pours BILLIONS of your TAX dollars into a country that you probably can not find on a map and who's people you would not welcome if they moved in next door...interesting.
Anon said: If you're so brave, go with you're real name.
Hey, anon, guess what -- THIS IS MY REAL NAME!! Where's yours?
Did you read the diary I linked to? If I am anti-military, why would I be part of the team that remembers and honors soldiers who've been killed? And why am I sending care packages to a soldier who's stationed there right now? Your logic escapes me.
Tonight's diary covers five young men, none of them over 30. I'll post a link later, so you can read about the people who are dying while Mr. 26% approval rating drives around in Golf Cart One with the president of Afghanistan. So what if the Taliban is back in full force and growing a record poppy crop? Georgie's going on vay-kay for a month, our own congress and the Iraqi parliament's chillin' and American kids are dying over there every single day. And apparently that's okay with you.
Hey, LB, sorry to hear you're too old for the military. But you can still join the "real men" at Blackwater. Here's a link to their employment page: http://tinyurl.com/ybzdnz
Enjoy!
Shoes: Yes, I would rather see my tax dollars used to fight TERRORISM & help the INNOCENT people of Iraq. You can continue to SUPPORT politicies that give YOUR tax dollars to a crew that sits and waits for their government hand out every month. That same government that is hated and not trusted by any of them.
Yup, keep sending those checks! That will really motivate their lazy dead asses.
MoneyS. Real name is
Jones, OK.So, big deal. What does that tell you?
I didn't read YOUR diary but I read everyday about those heroes dying. Yes, it is SAD and it is UGLY but it is WAR(an ugly fact of life).
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It mus be FOUGHT for, PROTECTED, and HANDED ON for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children what it was once like in the United States where men WERE free....R.Reagan
Speaking of Bush & the Pres. of Afghanistan-did you hear him thank America for what they have done for his country? And I don't believe I saw anyone holding a gun to his head. But then again, maybe it was just Cheney in disguise.
Oh, and I didn't watch this positive segement on FOX. It was actually on CNN.
It's interesting that those who are against helping the poor and underclass, don't even CONSIDER UNFAIR all the CORPORATE WELFARE and tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans. It nice to see that we have such an affluent readership!
Yes, anonymous, we've now "freed" about 600,000 Iraqis by murdering them, and displaced a couple million more. Well, freedom has a price, as you say.
And let's hear about your experiences with war -- any firsthand? What about the "war on terror" -- any sacrifices on your part? We're waiting...
As promised, here's the link to the DailyKos diary remembering five young men who died serving our country:
MoneySmith: I work at two different organizations that send packages to our troops & volunteer at a VA hospital.
There are many outlets where one can follow the loss of our troops. DK would be LAST on my list.
And, what about the Pres. of Afghan? He thanked America. But that would be a positive note. Something you are not obviously interested in.
I'm glad to hear that you are helping the troops with something other than a magnetic ribbon on your car, which seems to be all many people are willing to do.
I am not sure why you find DailyKos objectionable. The founder is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. And he does not allow people to post anything questioning the occurrences on 9/11, because he truly believes the government story.
Who is surprised that Karzai said "thank you" -- he is receiving billions of taxpayer dollars in aid, while people here are going hungry. Meanwhile, today in Pakistan, President Musharraf canceled a meeting with local tribal leaders to discuss terrorism after Bush said he would invade Pakistan. So the terrorists are winning, again.
MoneyS: "The terrorists are winning again." What terrorists? I thought they didn't exist.
You might want to look up the meaning of the word "sarcasm." Oh, heck we'll do it for you:
Sarcasm from Greek (sarkasmos), 'mockery, sarcasm' is sneering, jesting, or mocking a person, situation or thing. It is strongly associated with irony, with some definitions classifying it as a type of verbal irony intended to insult or wound[1] — stating the opposite of the intended meaning, e.g. using "that's fantastic" to mean "that's awful".
We here at S4I never claim that there are "no terrorist" what we said is that the government's response to that relatively small threat is disproportionate to the ACTUAL threat.
and you might want to look up the word doublespeak. "evasive, ambiguous language that is intended to deceive or confuse"
What's ambiguous here?
What don't you understand?
Again the threat of terrorism is real but the response to it has been disproportionate to the actual threat. Worse, it has been used by the administration to manipulate and distract the public.
naivety might be more appropriate "lack of sophistication or worldliness."
Looks as though 8/8/07 has come and gone. Any other looney predictions?
Hey, it was just a "gut feeling."

NYPD Steps Up Dirty Bomb Precautions
Spokesman Says Threat 'Unverified'
Last Edited: Friday, 10 Aug 2007, 10:11 PM EDT
Created: Friday, 10 Aug 2007, 10:11 PM EDT
The NYPD has modified its counter-terrorism posture Friday because of unverified intelligence regarding a dirty bomb risk.
This change includes an increased deployment of radiological sensors -- including those mounted on vehicles, boats and helicopters as well as those carried by NYPD personnel.
In addition, vehicle checkpoints are being established in New York City, including lower Manhattan, and at certain approaches to the city from neighboring areas.
These efforts are not in response to a verified threat, the department spokesman
New Al Qaeda threat of radioactive truck attacks naming New York, Los Angeles, Miami
August 10, 2007, 1:11 AM
The threat was picked up by monitors from a rush of electronic chatter on al Qaeda sites Thursday, Aug. 8.(!!!)
The al Qaeda communications accuse the Americans of the grave error of failing to take seriously the videotape released by the American al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gaddahn last week. “They will soon realize their mistake when American cities are hit by quality operations,” said one message.
Another said the attacks would be carried out “by means of trucks loaded with radio-active material against America’s biggest city and financial nerve center.”
A third message mentioned New York, Los Angeles and Miami as targets. It drew the answer: “The attack, with Allah’s help, will cause an economic meltdown, many dead, and a financial crisis on a scale that compels the United States to pull its military forces out of many parts of the world, including Iraq, for lack of any other way of cutting down costs.”
There is also a message which speaks obliquely of the approaching attacks easing the heavy pressure America exerts on countries like Japan, Cuba and Venezuela.
Counter-terror sources and monitors say there is no way of gauging for sure how serious these threats are, how real, or whether they are part of a war of nerves to give the Gaddahn tape extra mileage. But it is important to note that the exchange of messages took place over al Qaeda’s internal Internet sites and that they contained the threat of radioactive terror and specific American cities for the first time after a long silence on these subjects.
In addition, a growing number of clips has been disseminated of late over al Qaeda sites instructing the faithful how to design remote-controlled gliders, pack them with explosives and launch them against predetermined targets.
...Interesting
Quick, you get the plastic sheeting and duct tape! I'll call Jack Bauer!!
Sorry, but I'm not willing to go along with Homeland Insecurity's constant "terror" threats.
If something happens, it's going to be because we enraged a significant portion of the world. People who used to be our allies hate us now. Europeans are wondering why Americans are allowing their government to be destroyed. And even some Americans are wondering that!
MS: Yes, everyone loved us before we went into Iraq. That's why there were many attacks on Americans around the world BEFORE then and that is why we were attacked on 9/11-because they LIKED us so much. And even though they HATE us so much, we have people all over the world coming here to study, vacation & LIVE!
And one can already see that the excuses are being lined up in preparation for the next attack. Because of what WE'VE done. We made them mad. But I'm still a bit confused. Who are the THEY'S that hate us and who are the THEY'S that might attack us. I thought THEY didn't exist.
