Press for the Truth...

Out of the grieving thousands left behind on September 11th, a small group of activist families emerged to demand answers. In 9/11 Press For Truth, six of them (including three of the famous "Jersey Girls") tell for the first time the powerful story of how they took on the powers in Washington—and won!—compelling an investigation, only to subsequently watch the 9/11 Commission fail in answering most of their questions.

The families eventually found an ally in Paul Thompson. Dissatisfied with the incomplete picture of September 11th presented in most news reports, Thompson became a citizen journalist of sorts. He stitched together thousands of rare overlooked news clips, buried stories, and government press conferences into a definitive Complete 9/11 Timeline (published by Harper Collins as The Terror Timeline). Press For Truth is adapted in part from his acclaimed work, which revealed to the families a very different picture of the road that led to the attacks and the resulting War on Terror, one that still today raises important and pressing questions.

The movie was immediately hailed by critics and enthusiastically embraced by a groundswell of concerned people worldwide who felt that the 9/11 Commission and the western news media had failed to account for many important issues. For these thousands, Press For Truth was the rational, skeptical, mainstream motion picture examination of the events of September 11th they had been eagerly awaiting.

Did the 9/11 commission really fail, or did they just not get the answers that they wanted to hear?

Did you read the report? 7 WTC isn't even mentioned -- not one word. Does that sound like a thorough report to you?

Don't you think that if anyone, who lost a loved one on 9/11, has ANY question, the government should do anything and everything to have those questions answered to the satisfaction the citizens who have lost so much?

For a detailed analysis of the problems with the 9/11 Commission Report, see David Ray Griffin.

The following video is all the way back from 2004, which makes you wonder what the heck is taking so long for people to catch on!

If you are having trouble with this link, go to Google video, search for David Ray Griffin, and then click on the video titled, "9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions." It's about 1 hour long.

Here is another David Ray Griffin lecture from 2005, this time in Washington, D.C., by invitation from my number two girl (after my number one girl, The Honorable Barbara Lee, of course), The Honorable Cynthia McKinney, ex-US Representative from Georgia.

I doubt that link is going to make it on this post, so I urge peeps to go find it on Google Video.

McKinney was, of course, promptly fired from Congress in 2006, probably having a lot to do with her role in questioning the 9/11 report (i.e., despite being heavily favored, she did not even win her primary for the 2006 election, under highly questionable voting conditions).

My favorite was the day before she left Congress, she filed articles of impeachment against the current regime. Here is what Wikipedia says about it on her biography there:

Articles of Impeachment Introduced
At the End of the 2006 Legislative Session

McKinney introduced articles of impeachment against President Bush as (H Res 1106), which makes three charges against Bush: manipulating intelligence and lying to justify the war in Iraq, failing to uphold accountability and violating privacy laws with his domestic spying program.

The second article also makes charges against Vice President Cheney for helping to "fix" the intelligence in order to justify the Iraq war, and against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for making false statements concerning Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction program.

Because the resolution was introduced on the final day of voting before McKinney's term ended, the legislation was largely symbolic.

Makes you wonder if black women are the only ones truly interested in truth and justice in this country these days. Barbara Lee and Cynthia McKinney should run on the same ticket for President/Vice President in 2008.

Nicole, thank you for this information! I had no idea about Cynthia McKinney's election or her stance on 9/11. Time for some research!

You're welcome, Money! Glad somebody is trying to make use of it.

In your honor, here is another attempt at that McKinney/Griffin video link. It really is worth it to see McKinney's opening remarks, if you can get there. You will probably have to cut and paste the link elsewhere and take the spaces out of it before it works properly. I put spaces in after the first question mark and two subsequent equal signs to make it show up in its entirety here.

Shoes, are you there? Can you do something about making these links more workable?
