Official Account of 9/11 a “Joke” and a “Cover-up”

September 23, 2007 – Seven CIA veterans have severely criticized the official account of 9/11 and have called for a new investigation. “I think at simplest terms, there’s a cover-up. The 9/11 Report is a joke,” said Raymond McGovern, 27-year veteran of the CIA, who chaired National Intelligence Estimates during the seventies. “There are a whole bunch of unanswered questions. And the reason they’re unanswered is because this administration will not answer the questions,” he said. McGovern, who is also the founder of VIPS (Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity), is one of many signers of a petition to reinvestigate 9/11.

We agree.

This Just In...

"If there’s another 9/11 under this regime … it means that they switch on full extent all the apparatus of a police state that has been patiently constructed, largely secretly at first but eventually leaked out and known and accepted by the Democratic people in Congress, by the Republicans and so forth.

Will there be anything left for NSA to increase its surveillance of us? … They may be to the limit of their technical capability now, or they may not. But if they’re not now they will be after another 9/11.

Another 9/11 or an Iranian attack in which Iran’s reaction against Israel, against our shipping, against our troops in Iraq above all, possibly in this country, will justify the full panoply of measures that have been prepared now, legitimized, and to some extent written into law. …"

Yeah, Shoes! Back on topic again.

You may think this is off topic, but monitoring the judiciary, which until now seems to have been flying under the radar on 9/11 issues, is going to be an important factor.

That said, I am taking this as good news...

I hate to do this to many of my progressive homies here at S4I, but here is a guy who strongly criticizes Democrats, including the likes of Bill Clinton and Joseph Biden, for helping to set up and allowing so much carnage in Iraq, carnage that apparently goes back decades now. His name is Jeremy Scahill:

http://tinyurl.com/2pvjkx

http://tinyurl.com/38mdqp

I have been watching many of his talks on YouTube, and offhand I am agreeing with his argument that 9/11 may be a welcome distraction for the current regime -- they want 9/11 distractions to keep us all away from what we really should be focusing on and investigating -- the mass murder of (millions?) of innocent Iraqi's, mostly at the hands of a lawless private army that nobody seems to know much about, not even exactly to whom they answer.

I can't believe these guys (Blackwater) were on the streets of New Orleans after Katrina as if they were the National Guard. I am only discovering this tonight, but it certainly put some parts of a bigger picture into focus.

I always thought we were relatively safe from becoming a police state because I never bought into the idea that the US military would be loyal to any president that took this route, but now it is clear the US military is not the problem -- it's this possibly larger, more powerful, better equipped private army that we have to watch out for. They apparently could kick the US military's butt if they wanted to at this point, especially if equipped with the latest technology and weaponry, like maybe a more advanced version of the newest torture toy:

Gawd almighty people! Why has Jeremy Scahill escaped my radar for so long? Does anybody have a different scoop on this guy? He speaks well and what he is saying makes a lot of sense, but sometimes another viewpoint is what is needed to get things into perspective.

Of course, it doesn't take a genius to realize that all you have to do is take our electricity away and we are all pretty much screwed against the current regime and its litte private army.

Does anybody really believe this regime is willfully going to give up power in 2008?

I'm going to bed. This post started out on such a positive note earlier today, Shoes, offering such high hopes of a new 9/11 investigation, but this Blackwater/Iraqi holocaust/complicit Congress stuff is just a real downer tonight...

Daniel Ellsberg...now there's an unbiased, reliable, fair and balanced opinion.

New rule. Due to the time sensitive nature of the current political climate (i.e., we don't have the luxury of oodles and oodles of time to elucidate what is fact and what isn't right now -- we have to cut to the chase as quickly and as efficiently as possible), Life can't post an opinion without a link to some facts or evidence -- or even just a source -- that backs up what he says.

You wouldn't survive five seconds writing a scientific paper, Life. You remind me of all those graduate students out there who have completed all the work for a thesis and have many opinions, but just haven't been able to get around to writing the paper.

Well, I've got news for you. The devil is in the writing because that is where you have to put up or shut up. You can't make a single statement or present a single argument in a (legitimate) paper without having the evidence yourself or citing somebody who does.

So I take it this is your thesis: this article by Daniel Ellsberg can not be trusted because Daniel Ellsberg can not be trusted.

I do not fully agree with the premise in the first place and think it would be a much stronger argument to list specific facts or ideas in the article itself that are in dispute, but it's your thesis, and as your thesis adviser, I must insist that at the very least, you provide the evidence with the links for why Daniel Ellsberg can not be trusted.

I only say this because nothing would be more useful to me right now that a solid criticism of this article. The sarcastic, teethless fluff that you provide is not helpful.

From reading up on him at Wikipedia (not always the most reliable source, I know, but sometimes it's a good start), Ellsberg looks more like a whistleblowing hero who is on the side of exposing the truth more than anything.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Ellsberg

Can't wait to see the dirt you have on him, Life, along with all that purported dirt you have on my girl Barbara Lee (remember -- you smeared her a while ago with some pretty strong statements trying to undermine her character, but so far nothing to back it up).

Maybe you ought to stop getting all your information from FoKKKs News.

LifeBeginsAt200MPH said...

FoKKKs news...cute. Where is your "Link" to the facts? Sorry, but doublespeak and hypocrisy don't work with me. What "Evidence" do you have that FOX news is run or infiltrated by the KKK? Where is your "Source" for said evidence? Do you have pictures of FOX employees around a burning cross? Do you have copies of their membership rolls? What gives you the right to accuse them of said guilt? Nothing. Your opinion and beliefs are your own and others can take them or leave them.

I think Babs is a blathering idiot. Just like Sheila Jackson Lee, Cynthia McKinney, Maxine Waters, John Conyers, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and their ilk. And before you accuse me of being a card carrying member of the KKK, I think Chuckie Schumer, Joe Biden, Henry Waxman, Diane Feintsein, Barbara Boxer, Teddy Kennedy, and their ilk are blathering idiots too. It's called freedom of expression/speech. That's the problem with you "Progressives", it's OK as long as you are saying ANYTHING about ANYBODY you don't agree with, but God forbid, anybody else has the audacity to counter your "opinion" and then they're "racist, homophobic, sorry old white men".

And, FYI, about 20 years ago, I watched a KKK rally along with about 30 LEO's from the MSHP,FBI, and more. The KKK are a bunch of fkn idiots....

...and I've read the Pentagon Papers, All The Presidents Men, and every other book on that era, watched the Watergate Hearings live, and more, because I lived through it. Daniel Ellsberg is a putz who should have been imprisoned for theft of classified government papers.

Moooo....

Who are your heroes in present day Congress and/or politics in general, Life? Nobody? Just curious.

Glad you are denouncing the KKK.

The only inside video I have so far of Blackwater, as presented in an earlier post:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txl48XQADNw&watch_response

has "Daniel Whitcomb, Sergeant at Arms, Blackwater Forces under God, Christ, and the Emperor of America" (he signs off at the end saying this) as stating at time marker 1:07 - 1:30 in the video:

"We fully support high standards similar to nazi storm troopers for high levels of enforcement that drive unethical, immoral players from our industry, basically, unchristian. If you do not believe in our cause, you are immoral. Killing in the name of Christ is our business, and business is good."

He also states at time marker 2:00:

"No, I am not personally a Christian. Yes, I do get a lot of shit from all the fucking nazi right wing bastards..."

Aren't modern day neo-nazis and the KKK pretty much the same group? Wikipedia says, "The KKK's popularity fell during the Great Depression, and membership fell further during World War II because of scandals resulting from prominent members' crimes and its support of the nazis."

In all the videos I see so far of Blackwater employees, a company based in the South, I see mostly a bunch of white males, though I think I may have seen a black guy briefly in one.

In a propaganda video apparently released by Blackwater in order to advertise and recruit members into their organization, the opening segment of the video states, "Some footage contains "strong" language. Turn up the volume. Feel the recoil. Enjoy!". Then later, you hear one guy call the Iraqis they are shooting at, "Fucking niggers," and when he does this, the volume seems to go up and it is made very clear, like he spoke it right into the mic... see time marker 2:23 in the following video:

http://tinyurl.com/28yn7o

All this is good enough for me... Blackwater is a highly suspected KKK front until proven otherwise.

As for FoKKKs News, of all the major news agencies reporting on Blackwater recently, only Fox News seems to defend this company. I watched a video just yesterday from Fox where the reporter was explaining how the recent killings of 11 Iraqis by Blackwater employees on September 16 was provoked and justified. The problem is, the damn video seems to have disappeared and now I can't find it. Anyway, good enough for me -- I am highly suspicious of FoKKKs News until proven otherwise (and I'll keep looking for the video).

"All this is good enough for me... Blackwater is a highly suspected KKK front until proven otherwise."

That makes as much sense as me saying I can't see atoms, so therefore they don't exist.

And one asshole making stupid statements on a YouTube video means nothing.

Who do I "admire" in politics?..damn few if any, have to think about it. Ain't a nickels worth of difference between a lot of them. Except for the nutballs.

What I do admire about all of them is their guts to put themselves in the public eye. 99.9% of people who do nothing but bitch and criticize elected officials haven't got the guts to even run for office...or the brains. And, actually, it's not so much admiration...it's called respect. Of which there's dam little on this site.

Bill Clinton was a 2 bit sleaze ball who couldn't keep his pecker in his pants, but he was The President of my country, and as much as I think he sucked, he still had the respect he was due from me and many other adults who understand life.

H Nicole Young said...

You present interesting non sequiturs, Life. They explain a lot.

Given we seem to be on two different planes of understanding, maybe you will not get these analogies:

To me, Bush and Cheney deserve the same kind of respect as Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin, for the same reasons.

To me, you preaching about respect is like Clinton preaching about fidelity -- you might have a inkling what it is, but you certainly don't have a history of practicing it regularly.

And to say, well, we should show respect for a guy until proven guilty, yeah, right. He sent our entire military over to Iraq probably to kill them all in one shot with a nuke that we are all supposed to believe was dropped by Iran. After he declares a police state and has his private army take over the country, we'll show him by showing "disrespect" at that time, but not a minute sooner.

Geez Louise, Life. Are you really that naive to be playing the "respect" card for Bush, or for any politician that is not actively working to stop him and Cheney, at this late stage of the game?

LifeBeginsAt200MPH said...

"To me, Bush and Cheney deserve the same kind of respect as Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin, for the same reasons."

It'll be ok...someday you'll grow up and realize how foolish that statement is. Much like I realize how foolish it was when I said the same thing about LBJ, Nixon, and the Hoi Polloi of their time.

moneysmith said...

Absolutely right, h nic -- Blackwater is a front organization, a group of violent sociopaths who belong in prison. It's sad this country has fallen so low, but that what happens when faux christians and lunatics who do not belong in public office decide it's time to "kill for Christ." WTF?

I'm not a bible scholar or a christian, but show me where it says war is a good thing. I thought Jesus's message was turn the other cheek, love your enemy and do unto others as you would have them do unto you -- not before they do unto you. Where's the part about killing innocents and those who believe differently?

Shoes4Industry said...

They deserve LESS respect.

"They deserve LESS respect."

That's just downright fkd up...

I think Clinton was the most worthless sob to ever sit in the White House, but he sure in the hell wasn't anywhere close to being in Hitler and Stalin's league...and neither is GWB. Y'all got some serious mental health issues to say that kind of crap.

Shoes4Industry said...

We'll stand by our statement.

Back to that old "it's Clinton's fault" standby? That's the best you can come up with. zzzzzzzz
