BREAKING NEWS...Republicans Just Not Funny*!

In a memo to senior producers this afternoon, Fox News Channel's SVP of programming, Bill Shine, announced the network "will not continue the Half Hour News Hour beyond its current 15 episode run." Shine did leave the door open, however: "we are considering ways to retool the show for future scheduling needs."

The TV news satire show which airs Sunday nights, stars faux anchors Kurt McNally, played by Kurt Long, and Jennifer Lange, played by Jennifer Robertson.

FNC will air the final show September 16.

We at S4I tried to watch this pathetic attempt at mimicking The Daily Show, and it was, to say the least, not funny. Republicans seem to forget that "they are the joke." They should keep doing their comedy where they do it best... on Talk Radio.

You'll find more commentary here.

*on purpose.

Calling that show "pathetic" is very kind. I was thinking of something more along the lines of "disaster" or "insult to anyone with more than a double-digit IQ."

Ever wonder why all the liberal talk shows fail?

I see that the anonymous comments must have been hitting a raw nerve. Censorship? Proves my point once again. Freedom of speech only if liberals are doing the talking.
Thanks for making my point a fact.

And yet you are here, Janet, having your voice heard. hmmmm

Just trying to keep the riff-raff to a minimum. Either "put up" or "shut up" as they say.

Thanks!

They can censor all they want because of the men and women in uniform who know what sacrifice is in the name of virtue.

To somewhat paraphrase someone famous from a long time ago

"You may be an ass, but I'll defend with my life your right to make an ass of yourself."

The problem today is that most "Progressives" have no idea what honor and valor are.

Our thanks to them! Bring them home today.

Luckily you don't run the military or you'd understand that they have a job to do and they're not finished yet.

Or do you support women getting stoned to death? How about the 1000's of Kurds' Saddam gassed to death?

Do you not support freedom and democracy for everyone in the world including the underprivileged, defenseless people? Or just for yourself and your kind? Have you no sense of true morals and rights for all mankind?

Shoes4Industry said...

So why aren't you over there helping?
Blackstone is hiring.

They are being used by a corrupt, criminal administration for the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time. What about that don't you get?

There are atrocities happening all over the globe (Darfur, New Orleans) where's your support for those victims? Where's your outrage?

hmmm?

I read Rosie O'Donnell's blog often, and somebody there yesterday recommended this movie:

www.zeitgeistmovie.com

It is way too long even for me, the Queen of S4I Longwinders, but for an interesting take on what may be going on with 9/11 on a global scale, I recommend part III beginning at time marker 1:11:00 (1 hour 11 minutes in).

Here is a breakdown of the rest of the movie:

Part I (0:00 to 37:00) -- Religion (did not interest me that much, so I skipped most of it)

Part II (37:00 to 1:11:00) -- the 9/11 story as told (mostly) by what may be two "9/11 Hijackers" Steven Jones and David Ray Griffin, though please -- I do not want to impose these personal views on others just coming on board who do not know me. Watch for yourselves with an open mind if you are interested.

My favorite snippets from Part II were:

38:10 -- Joe Casliggi talks about everything just turning into dust.

1:00:15 -- Clip of Cheney, Giuliani, and Bush repeating the word "terror" over and over (loved it).

Part III (1:11:00 to the end) -- The "Men Behind the Curtain." Very
interesting discussion of the Federal Reserve and
International Bankers running everything for years.

Wish I could get people's take on part III some time, as I do not buy all of it hook line and sinker, but there was definitely a lot of info there that I was not aware of, assuming all the info is true.

"Zeitgeist" will be shown at the 9/11 Truth Film Festival in Oakland, CA.

Check it out.

Yes, but it is available online, too, or is the link I just posted a pirated version? Oops.

Hey, Janet, "all liberal talk shows" do not fail. Keith Olbermann's is making huge strides. Here are the statistics:

"'Countdown with Keith Olbermann' continues its ratings surge, up +81% in total viewers (818,000 v. 452,000) and +73% in the demo (292,000 v. 169,000) over a year ago."

Same for "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" -- both are hugely popular.

Meanwhile, Fox "news" viewers continue to abandon the network in droves.

Here's an idea -- do some research before you post, so you don't embarrass yourself -- yet again.

It's not surprising that Faux News is as popular as it is given the general IDIOCRACY of the majority of the American public. How could you expect anything less?

moneysmith said...

The point, C45, which you obviously MISSED YET AGAIN, was that "all liberal talk shows" are not failing, as janet said.

And before you go off on your next cut-and-paste job, be aware that I am not replying to you again. You are here to distract and disrupt and I'm not playing your game. Get it? Or is that too complicated for you?

Cocked45 said...

IDIOCRACY? Funny, I don't find that in any dictionary I have.

Don't play the game, especially when ya' don't know how to play. You'll just lose.

Fox News Channel is number 1 for a reason. Because the majority of Americans are tired of the same drivel spouted by the liberally biased MSM.

In media, advertising is king, and if you have no advertisers, you don't make money. Hence, the consistent failure of left wing radio ala Air America.

Is that too complicated for you?

Guess my old 1932 Webster's is out of date. LMAO At least I'm man enough to admit it when I make a mistake.

And, I believe this is a free country where one has the right to express their opinion. The problem with this blog is you all get your knickers in a knot whenever someone doesn't kowtow to your continued propaganda.

Might have to watch Idiocracy. I love Mike Judge.

The one time I watched Fox "Funny News" I thought it pretty well sucked.

MoneyS - Aren't Keith, Colbert & Daily Show on TV? I was referring to talk RADIO. Rush, Sean Hannity, Quinn & Rose & Glenn Beck. Top rated RADIO shows. Liberal RADIO shows can't compete. Oh, and you conveniently forgot to mention Air America ((Al Franken) bombed.

Yes, Nicole I'am here but why all of a sudden does this blog not allow anonymous comments. What difference does a name REALLY make. This blog just didn't like what alll the anonymous commenters had to say.

MoneyS. isn't playing "your game" C45 because he can't stand any competition

H Nicole Young said...

Well, not sure about the anonymous comment thing. I can see where that might smack of censorship and people might feel muzzled or controlled. Then again, it is Shoes' blog, and I think he is at least trying his best to keep things civil, so I respect his decisions and ground rules.

Lee said...

Nicole- Comments are civil-just a little "heated". Did Shoes attend the Rosie O'Donnell school of blogsphere - MY BLOG MY RULES (and if you don't agree with me-Poof! you're gone).

Riff-Raff sure has been kept to a minimum - the four constants that are here that agree with everything you say.

Shoes4Industry said...

If you look, you will find the definition of "hate speech" somewhere here, or you can look it up for yourself.

Anonymous said...

It's not about being in agreement, lee, it's about having something worthwhile to contribute. When the kkkons post their predictable cliches about how liberals are ruining the country, etc., they aren't advancing the dialogue. Some of us come here to learn, and the disparaging comments are an unnecessary distraction.

Lee said...

Talk about predictable? Who's more "predictable" than libs. blaming EVERYTHING (including natural disasters) on the Republicans?

You're learning on this site that not everyone buys into this conspiracy theory BS.

And please stop calling disagreements hate speech.

Anonymous said...

Who said anything about hate speech? And nobody's expecting you to buy into anything. Is someone forcing you to come here? Your only interest seems to be liberal bashing, and you're not even good at that.

Lee said...

MS- "Who says anything about hate speech?" How about S4I everytime something is posted that he doesn't agree with. Just how do you miss that?

Nope, not forced to be here. But since I first checked out this site I became a little annoyed with all the conserative bashing (go ahead, deny that) and just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

Anonymous said...

Two cents, lee? You flatter yourself.

Shoes4Industry said...

"Conservative Bashing"? Who's more deserving of "bashing" than those who have run this country into a ditch.

Lee said...

MS - I'll keep adding my "two cents" and you can continue to add your "nonsense."

Lee said...

Forgot to mention something I read in the newspaper today. Angry Keith Ob. now has a new show.
Yes, his ratings have gone up in the past year BUT "the show still TRAILS it's time slot competitor (& frequent O. target)* "THE O'REILLY FACTOR on FOX).

* Typical-if you can't beat them slam them.

Anonymous said...

lee, I know I'm repeating myself, but you are boring. Really, really boring. Get some new material. You're embarrassing the right wingnuts, and that's not very easy to do.

Lee said...

MS: Why do find the Keith O. comment so boring? Apparently, you thought it was interesting enough to mention that Keith O. was making "hugh strides" on one of your previous blogs. You also mentioned that Fox NEws viewers continue to abandon Fox "in droves."

Maybe, you're boring youself.
